The homeowners approached Hillcrest Construction with a goal to add a master bedroom suite and to fulfill their long-term vision dating back to when the home was purchased five years previously. Hillcrest Construction worked cooperatively with the clients to develop a floor plan that included a large master bedroom, walk-in closet, and master bath. The new master bedroom stretched overtop the existing first-floor family room with the master bath reaching laterally overtop an existing laundry room. The clients were offered multiple rooflines to consider, and the double gable was the best choice both architecturally and for a matter of taste. Large windows on three sides of the bedroom offer panoramic views of the clients' wooded backyard. Automated blinds offer the ability to temper the natural light pouring in through the southern-facing wall of windows. The bathroom features both a tiled walk-in shower and a clawfoot soaking tub. A custom vanity with a quartz top, marble herringbone floor tile, and polished chrome Kohler Artifacts fixtures complete the throwback feel of this classic bathroom sanctuary. Second-floor interior walls were addressed to open up the labyrinth-style hallways and carve-out a spot for a functional walk-in closet with built-in cabinetry. As part of a long-term plan, the house was fully re-sided with premium vinyl siding in a Rugged Canyon color with white trim elements.
